Whatever you're working on, you'll appreciate the small details that separate this intuitively designed tool from similar nailers. Integrated LED lights make it simple to ensure accuracy. An simple-to-operate contract trip lock-off disables the trigger when the tool is not in use for improved safety. The nosepiece is simple to access and clear tool-free if a nail jam occurs. And a six-position dial makes it simple to go between several applications without stopping to re-buy exact depth settings, saving you time. Additionally, the 34-degree angled, rear-load magazine is simple to handle for quick refills, and it will accept up to 110 DeWalt 34-degree nails. Included in this kit is a one-hour charger, an 18-volt XRP battery, a reversible belt hook that accommodates right- and left-handed workers, a no-mar tip, safety glasses, and a kit box for simple storage. This DeWalt high-performance industrial tool is backed by a 3-year limited warranty. ....read more

Very Excellent Tool
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Bought this nail gun to do trim work in our new house based on the reviews here. All of the reviews were right. This is a very nice tool, simple to use even for a novice like myself. It is on the heavy side, you can skip your curls at the gym after using it! (It isn’t that terrible) I have since bought a DeWalt hammer drill that uses the same XRP battery pack and will be adding more tools from the DeWalt XRP line. Very pleased.

dewalt dc628k 18v 15g end nailer

I WANTED A 15G END NAILER. LOOKED AT SENCO AND HATACHI. CHOSE TO TRY A BATTERY MODEL AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THIS MODEL. I AM NOT A CONTRACTOR BUT BUY “EXCELLENT” TOOLS, THE HIGHEST QUALITY I CAN AFFORD. I HAVE RUN 1500+ NAILS THROUGH THIS GUN WITH ZERO PROBLEMS AND LOANED IT TO A END GUY FOR ABOUT THE SAME NUMBER. HE HAS ORDERD ONE FOR HIMSELF. NICE TO NOT HAVE TO DRAG OUT THE COMPRESSOR AND HOSE WHEN DOING END WORK!

Another terrific Dewalt tool
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this nailer in January and wanted to use it on several projects before writing the review, I have and here it is:
After years of dragging the compressor and hose up one or two flights of stairs (the compressor still rules in the shop!) I was keen to “go airless” and boy, am I glad I did. Small jobs (like 4 or 5 nails into a piece of trim) are effortless. As others have mentioned, the battery lasts a really long time (two batteries is plenty) and the power setting (to set the nail depth) is fantastic.
After several small piece-of-cake trim jobs, it was time to challenge the 628 with oak flooring. I installed 3/4 x 5″ inch solid unfinished oak in a bedroom and had to use the 628 on the first and last 3 courses (where the Portanailer wouldn’t work) as well as in two closets. On a power setting of 6 (the highest) the 628 had no problem blasting through the full 3/4″ oak into the plywood below and setting the nails nicely. I had about three jams (probably hit the H-clips or screws below the oak), but they were pretty simple to clear.
The fact that 628 uses the same Senco nails as my Senco nailers was a huge bonus as I have a pretty excellent stash of 1.5, 2, and 2.5 inch and I wasn’t looking forward to purchasing and storing more.
Expensive? Maybe, but the thrill of money saved on inferior tools is forgotten long before the frustration of cheap tools is.
Another fantastic Dewalt product!

Unmatched!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Considering cordless nailers? DeWalt has it done right! My project was crown moulding with enhancers for the entire downstairs and master bedroom upstairs; four large rooms in all. I did not want to drag cables and a compressor around or deal with the noise so I did my research and narrowed it down between this one and the Paslode. Ultimately I chose on the DeWalt because it did not require air cartridges and reviews of Paslode showed a regular tendancy to jam alot. I bought a refurb model. I am extremely pleased with the buy and performance of the gun. I used 1.5 and 2 inch nails and also ordered those from Amazon. I probably went through 2000 nails and the gun only jammed 3 times. Removing the jammed nail was super simple and was completed in less than 20 seconds. The gun itself is a small heavy at around 8-9 lbs, but I wasn’t holding it up for any extended length of time. I am extremely pleased with this gun and solidly recommend it. Your toughest challenge should be determining what gauge nail gun you need for your project.

dewalt cordless trim nailer
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is another fantastic dewalt tool. I have the trim nailer and the brad nailer and like them both. You need batteries but NO HOSES!!!!
I use this nailer to trim entire houses from doors, base, crown etc…
house after house. It is heavier then air operated but who cares.

Bulky? Not really!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve used this nailer for about a year. Never had jams,or distress. It seems bulky, but really it can get into tight spaces quite easily. Once the battery charged in full, it lasts all day. I like the bump fire mode by flicking a switch. I use Senco nails and they are superior. 15ga nails make rather huge holes, but they are the most versatile to any carpentry projects. No air compressor and hose to drag around. Recommend.

Brilliant — even for a non-pro
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This tool is brilliant for a non-pro like me who doesn’t do a lot of nailing. I’d rather have the fatigue from lifting the tool than the sore wrist/elbow/shoulder due to using a hammer when those muscles are not in shape.
A couple of tips for non-pros:
- Working while wearing a jacket, the belt hook was constantly catching on the underside of my jacket. I don’t need the belt hook in my application. It was simple to remove with a star key.
- Set it to use “sequential” mode instead of “bump” mode. It nails quicker than my amateur reckon-and-place rate anyhow and is safer.
- Even when set to sequential mode, you still want to keep your finger well away from the trigger when holding the tool. You could press the nose hard against something and accidentally pull the trigger.
An brilliant tool. It is simple to load, simple to adjust the depth dial, very natural to use.
Half paid for already after doing one small project.
(Also fun to use!)

Best money I ever spent on a power tool.

This is my favorite tool. I do a few wood projects around the house such as bookshelves, bunkbeds, and entertainment centers. This thing made those projects so very much simpler. Instead of clamping things carefully and laboriously, I just slap slome wood glue on and hit it a few times with the end nailer and walk away. Very nice. It’s simple to use and dependable. I’ve had it jam only a very few times and it’s simple to remedy. Battery life is brilliant.
By far the best tool I own.

Incredible
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I wish that I would have known about this before I bought air nailers. I started looking for a cordless nailer when I started running trim in our house. Faced with trimming out everything, and getting very tired of stepping, tripping over hoses I finally bought the deawlat cordless nailer. This tool is incredible. I like it. It has not failed once nor jammed once. It is the first thing I reach for when nailing. As for the air nailer, I still use it in my shop, but when out of the shop the DeWalt nailer is KIng.

One of the best tool investments I’ve made!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I can’t add much to the excellent things that other folks have already said here. This is an brilliant and practical tool! One thing I can vouch for is its durability. I got this nailer for Christmas back in ’04, and have used it several times a week ever since(I reckon I may really use it more than my drill driver…is that possible?). Often it can be working all day long. This thing hasn’t skipped a beat yet! I spent much more for it back then (Yeah, I got it for MYSELF for Christmas), and I still reckon it was worth every penny. I know not having to carry around and set up a compressor and hose is priceless.

awesome addition to the tool collection
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This has made things so much simpler in so many ways. The battery lasts a very long time. I’ve gone through around 1500 – 2000 nails now and it has only jammed once and that was because the nail hit metal just under the wood that I didn’t see and the nail I was shooting had nowhere to go. Very simple to get it out and keep going.

Fantastic Gun
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had this gun for over a year now. It’s been fantastic and hasn’t failed me once. Oh and did I mention that I had a refurbished one? It works perfectly on anything that I have thrown at it. The first time I brought it out at my new job people didn’t know what to reckon. Every one of them has tried it and loved it. Some were just passing the tool around and amazed that the thing would fire nails into thick molding. I guess they thought you needed air pressure to be able to do some of that. The price of this gun when bought new might keep most of them away, but I have been helping my crew mates to find deals on it so they aren’t asking to use mine.

Fantastic nailer, but – only one battery, refurbished can be had for $199
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
First of all, this nail gun is fantastic. It is very reliable, and the lighting by the business end illuminating the work (which might seems like a silly gimmick) is really a fantastic feature when dealing with dodgy job site lighting, crawl spaces, etc. On to the future – first you forgot the hoses and cylinders when the Paslode Impulse guns came out, but now forget dealing with the gas cartridges needed for the Impulse guns! But – having scanned the product description, it isn’t made clear that this gun comes with only one battery. You need two for production carpentry without down-time, so plot on another $60 expense there unless you have other 18v DeWalt tools in play. Second of all, the re-furbished model (when available) is a fantastic deal [...] why pay nearly twice as much for a groundbreaking new tool when the major difference seems to be a few scratches on the refurbished tool. Huge deal! Thirdly, be aware that the plunger is driven back into the housing with a pair of glorified rubber bands. This will usually be the first part to wear out (after several years of regular use). DeWalt will tell you that a new $69 assembly (plus about $10 shipping) is needed to get the replacement “rubber bands”, a service center will often question for $220 to solve any problem with the tool, but the “rubber band” only can be had [...] if you are willing to venture into the inner working of the tool yourself and wait a few weeks for the part. Pleased end nailing!

Flawless nailer.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought the nail gun several months ago. It is truly a marvel and does a fantastic job on 15ga finishing nails.
I have NEVER had a mis-fire. I had gotten so used to them on even very excellent air nailers. This is fantastic for 15ga work. I bought the DeWalt brand heavy duty nails and they are comparable to finishing nails I’d drive by hand. The DeWalts are coated, so have fantastic holding power. Often, to avoid hand nailing, I just drive a couple more of the finishing nails, which have a “clipped” head which itself has very excellent holding power. The nailer has no problem putting a 2.5 inch nail through two-by-fours. I’ve only used it on softwood so don’t know how it will perform with hardwood.
I recently started using 1.5 inch nails for nailing plywood to 2x4s and they have worked fine. After several hundred nails, I have not had a misfire.
I do some rough outdoor work (making large cages, making sheds, etc.) and with this device, my cordless DeWalt recip saw and a Ryobi circular saw, I do not need electricity or air hoses. Just load up the wheelbarrow with tools, spare batteries, and nails, and I’m excellent to go.
The only downside to this nailer is the weight. It’s quite a bit heavier than air models or gas fired, like the Paslode. Since I use it intermittently that hasn’t been a problem.
I do not know how many nails it will do on a charge as my projects only involve 100 nails or so and I swap the battery with my saws and drills when not using it on the nailer. I imagine I could get several hundred nails on a charge, but I just haven’t had that kind of project yet.
I am so glad I bought this and recommend it to anyone.

Really really excellent nailer.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought a refurb model of this and have nothing but fantastic things to say about this nailer. I’ve used it for quick shoe moulding repair, bathroom baseboard installation, and to flatten out cedar shingle siding that was warping before painting. Bump mode is highly functional with no lag or delay.
I Have never needed to use a depth adjustment setting higher that 3, even while using 2 1/2 inch nails into 2x4s, setting 2 will sink it all the way in.
I would change the LED light to a white color rather than yellow though.
I use hitatchi nails from lowes with no problems at all.

I Like this nail gun
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am a homeowner who yearned for new base boards and crown molding.
Its very powerful, and I have other Dewalt tools that use the same battery so it kept going and going. A setting of 3 or 4 (out of 10) was plenty to counter sink the nail (2 1/2 inch) into the wood molding. I have finished 2 rooms with no jams or misfires. If you are used to an air nailer it might be a bit heavier but they compensate for the weight by balancing the load nicely.

Fantastic nail gun
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We use this thing all of the time. I don’t miss the door trim abrasions from air hoses at all.
Some of the carpenters complain about it not being a “real” nail gun. But for some reason, they don’t want to run out the air hoses and set up the air compressor. Like my mom would say, “Some people would complain, even if they were buried in a gold coffin.”

Fantastic cordless nailer
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I like this cordless nailer. I’ve had the straight dewalt cordless nailer for the last couple of months and it works fantastic as well but this 34 degree version seems to get in those tight places just a small bit better especially with the crown moulding. I haven’t had any distress with power or jamming with this nailer. I have used the hitachi 2 1/2 inch angled end nails from lowes for this nailer (after trying the bostitch end nails which wouldn’t fit right), and they have worked fantastic. I would certainly recommend this cordless nailer to others especially for the $279.00 promotional price I recieved from Amazon a couple of weeks ago.
